Future Bazzar

In this course, we together with Soren Rosenbak arranged a future workshop. The first session was about forming the new future. We had several rounds of quick brainstorming by picking random words from the pool and imagined how these keywords can combine together to create a brand new future.

Then we fulfill the future story with evidence. For our group, we are trying to create a queer world and post-modern society. Therefore, we brainstormed together and draw this brand new world map where people build their countries based on their habits rather than ethnicity and relationship as it is nowadays.

We also create products in this context to make it more believable. In the picture, it shows Feminsm Milk which try to insert feminism into everyone's mind and Divination Table which gives insight about how to deal with relationships by picking one of the computer keys.

Creating New Norms

In this context, we each tried to create a brand that flourishes in the new world.

2020s,world wide war appeared.

2030s, tired of stuck in gender roles, men lead queer revolution.

2040s,world changed. Attention matters most, even becoming important criteria for politics.

Based on the timeline above, my brand borns in a situation where diverse aesthetics come to coexist in society, and people values attractiveness most. At that time, people can even tip a waiter not by money but by their attention. And utilizing this, the brand's wicked purpose is to create new norms on definition of whether people are attractive or not.

Brand Image

So UWOO borns. Its name stands for its strong slogan: you witness our outshine.

Because man revolution just ended, the world and people are keen to look for something from the opposite side, something dreamy, playful and kind. Therefore, UWOO uses bright and diverse color to form its brand image and meet the customers' needs.

And Uwoo have two main star products：

Smile Trainer

Smile Trainer is a device you use in your bathroom when facing a mirror. It's such a natural and regular behavior that someone uses it just after brushing their teeth.

This device provide instructions on how to activate facial muscles and then rate one's smile. You need to place it vertical against your face from head to neck so it can scan your smile thoroughly. After the scan is finished, it gives out notification and then gives information about the smile's score and how to improve it.

Attraction Campus Ring

Attraction campus is a ring that gives you information about how much the person you touch is attracted by you. This makes some people who have old-time minds better survive in this filled with diversity and ambiguity world.

Take-away

This project immersed our minds in a futuristic context, where everything in the workshop occurred spontaneously, leaving us with no opportunity for thorough preparation.

However, this unpredictability broadened our perspectives, as envisioning the future is not about right or wrong. It allowed us to freely imagine the possibilities of what could unfold in the future.
